For many years we have installed Bullet Resistant glass in banks, convienence stores, motels, check cashing facilities, police stations or any other warranted location... Bullet "proof" glass is particularly resistant to being penetrated when struck by bullets of different caliber. Manufacturing glass of usable thicknesses capable of fully stopping most bullets cannot currently be done, the industry generally refers to it as bullet-resistant glass instead. The level of security as specified by the customer, will dictates the makeup and thickness of each glass panel. Bullet-resistant glass is usually constructed using a strong but transparent material such as polycarbonate (Lexan) and/or by using layers of different thickness glass laminated together. The end result is a material with an appearance and light-transmitting behavior of standard glass but offers varying degrees of protection.
